Summative Essay Basics

Opinion- Can you relate it to yourself what’s your response after reading this novel?

Theme- What was the entire subject of the story?

Text Evidence- Sub themes supporting your topic.

Point- What was the mode of literature, but how did the symbols and characters relate?

Text to Real Life- Evidence supporting story from real life.

How it was Written- What was the level of sophistication? Was it hard or easy to read?

What not to do

Never use I think.
Make sure you sound intellect.
Never refer to your paper “I think this paper… Like I said before.”
Never use a symbol to replace a word.
Never address a reader “Now you know.”
Never list anything.
Never use unnecessary sentences.
Write numbers as word unless it’s longer than two syllables.
Don’t use parenthesis, you want commas.

Conclusion

Reiterate Thesis- Rewrite your thesis and post it to the beginning of your conclusion.
What do you want the reader to think about this… Act/ Change/ Behave?
